Qatar’s first locally designed nano satellite (QUbeSat1) scheduled for launching on the 28th of December 2025 at 3:30 pm GMT+3
QUbeSat1
The first nano-satellite designed and launched from Qatar University.
It is 0.25 U CubeSat, which means it occupies a quarter of a 1U 10x10x10 cm CubeSat. This model is called TriSat. The satellite is very highly integrated. It can take pictures of Earth from orbit and send them down to Qatar University’s ground station QUGS. A picture of the satellite along with some news feed of launching are shown here.
The project is funded by Qatar University (QU), Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI), and Qatar Satellite Company (Es’hailSat).
